Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress, best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA from Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she received an MFA. Aunjanue has a reputation as an American actor as well as a producer and director. She works in television and film. She began her acting career with theater, and was later featured in a number of TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. Then, she made an appearance in BET's epic television series The Book of Negroes. In 1995 she debuted as Ariel on stage in The Tempest. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway production of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film work is highlighted by her appearances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. For her work on television she's been recognized for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
