AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut at the club and helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was then just 22 years old. aged, was the smallest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 28 goalsand 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Morgan was later awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
